When I attempt to search this forum for BT-335, I get no results returned. Why so? I have already seen the device mentioned in this forum.

I am unable to get HoudahGPS to work with the GlobalSat BT-335. Anyone else have luck?

Please note I was able to _successfully_ use the BT-335 with their own OS X GlobalSync utility, as well as GPSBabel (09.03.12 version).

From console:
12/7/12 9:42:59.120 PM HoudahGPS[25447]: SheetController.m:302 /Applications/HoudahGPS.app/Contents/Resources/gpsbabel -t -w -i dg-100 -f /dev/cu.BT-GPS-37E273-BT-GPSCOM-1 -o gpx -F /var/folders/f8/bnjg2y_n7s94p2b0bkwrf2f80000gp/T/D13A3DC5-C512-41D5-A464-51E710B81AB8-25447-0001A0E7E8DDD9C9/886105-238759-749750-638629-694458-931732-291187.gpx

Hi!

1. The forum software unfortunately is a bit picky about which words it can search for. Google does a better job at that task.

2. HoudahGPS has not been updated in quite a while. The bundled gpsbabel binary is thus older than the one you have tried. Nonetheless it should work with the BT-335.

The console message is the actual command line run by HoudahGPS. So far everything seems OK.
Is that line followed by an error message or exit code?

Did you get an error message in HoudahGPS?

Best,
Pierre Bernard

Sorry for not including the message. I apologize. Here it is:

12/7/12 9:42:59.169 PM HoudahGPS[25447]: SheetController.m:512

command finished. Result code: 1

I also received a "Failed" error dialog from HoudahGPS.

Hi!

A result code of 1 indicates an error.
If HoudahGPS did not display any additional information, then none was provided by GPSBabel.

The command line arguments passed by HoudahGPS to gpsbabel do seem correct.
The port name however may not be correct.

Please go to System Preferences > Bluetooth and verify the "modem name" of your GPS device.

If that does not help, you may try replacing binary at /Applications/HoudahGPS.app/Contents/Resources/gpsbabel with the latest version from gpsbabel.org

Best,
Pierre Bernard
