Hi!

I have never heard of the Blumax GPS-4044.

What GPS chip does it have?
What USB chip does it have?

The GPS chip determines what device type you need to set in HoudahGPS.

The USB chip may or may not mandate a USB driver. This would/should provided by the manufacturer of the chip.

Best,
Pierre Bernard

What a quick response, although I am not technical!

The web site of the manufacturer is http://blu-max.com/products/gps_4044_logger.html

Thanks

Hi!

The device seems to use a MTK chip set. I could not figure out which USB bridge is used.

Once the device is paired with your Mac, you should be able to download track logs via Bluetooth using the MTK profile in HoudahGPS.

Best,

Hi!

Unfortunately the screenshots do not appear here.

Please check the System Profiler.app. In the list of connected USB drives you may be able to determine the chip set used by the device.

Best,

If you can't see the screenshots this is what I selected.

Device     MTK
Port          USB
Name       usbmodemfd140
Acquire    Tracks     (it would not work with both)
File type   GPX    (as I am using it with Aperture)

Thanks for your help.

Sorry Pupil, but connection with my MacbookPro-Blumax 4044 doesn't work. I connect cable, system profile see a data logger, but there is not green light. Do you work with Parallels under Windows? Or you can connect Blumax with this Houdah Software?
