really minor... but it would be nice to tab from the search field to the refine fields in a series.

search entry field>tab>refine entry field>next refine entry field etc.

Hi!

That should work. Which version of macOS are you running?

Best,

Hi Pierre

If the search field is the current focus, currently it tabs through the view options/task/share/1st refine parameter, and eventually the first refine field. I believe I would need to tab 8 times to get from Search to 1st refine text field.

So, tabbing does work but the sequence is from left to right. I was wondering it was possible to change the tab order?

thanks for the great software!

Hi!

This is controlled by settings in System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts. When you set Full Keyboard Access to All Controls, macOS will move focus from the search field to the next control when you press the tab key. It generally follows a left to right order.

You may want to try the following set-up:

- Open a new HoudahSpot window
- Add a new row at the top of the Refine pane
- Set it to “Any Text”
- Select File > Save as Default to make this setup the default for new windows
- In HoudahSpot > Preferences > Advanced, selecte “First input field in the Refine pane"

Now, whenever you open a new window, keyboard focus is on the “Any Text” criterion. Tabbing should move focus through controls until it reaches the input field in the next row.

Best,

Hi Pierre

Many thanks!

Changing the prefs was indeed the answer. I'm guessing that there is a reason why I changed that setting and eventually I will find out why. But until then I will be tabbing through HoudahSpot!

best regards
