Hi!

Thanks for your business.

Did you launch the ACTPrinter application. The service is installed on first launch.

Did you watch the screencast?

Yes to both!

I can print other documents with no issue, like from Leopard Preview for instance.

When I do the 'Print to iPhone" option in Leopard Mail, the service doesn't launch to choose the iphone and then send.

I had a similar problem. In my case, this was the solution: the ACTPrinter Mac application should be in your Applications folder, or it doesn't work. As far as I know this is not explained in the instructions.

Other than that i think this is a great app. There are some rough edges in the zooming while viewing. And I would like the large taskbar at the bottom to disappear like in other iPhone apps, so there's more screen space for viewing. Another wish is that the app remembers its state, so that when you start it again, you're looking at the same thing as when you last quit.

Hi!

I found ACTPrinter to have issues with files that have special characters in their names. This will be fixed in a future version.

Could you please check Console.app for error messages. This way I could confirm that the problem is indeed the file name?

Best,
Pierre Bernard

I have not been able to reproduce that. File names with é è etc come through fine on my MacOS 10.4.11 and iPhone 2.1

Hi Christian!

The issue is with characters which Mac OS may mistake for path separator. E.g. if your file is named "one:two", this would get read as file "two" in folder "one".

I thought those file names were illegal anyhow. My system doesn't let me use those characters in a file name

Hi!

They are. That's the problem actually. ACTPrinter tries to save the file using it's title for a name.

when I try to print a PDF doc it says must first save file. On other docs the OK is greyed out.
Have put the app in the app folder.

Hi!

I am sorry, I don't quite understand what you are saying.

Which application are you printing from?

Could you send in a screenshot?

Pierre Bernard

Hi!

Adobe Acrobat does not permit the use of PDF Services.

The workaround is to drag the icon of the PDF file directly onto the ACTPrinter Mac icon.
