I just figured out that it appears that Houdahgeo does not save the camera time (time zone, and offset from correct time) in a document. If true, this means that if you change your camera's time as you change time zones then all your old documents become invalid. Also, if you have 2 cameras, you can't keep track of the errors in each camera.

I tested this by opening one document, setting the "Camera time", then closing that document and opening another document. The camera in the second document is the same as in the first. Even worse, if you hit "Cancel" after looking at the camera time, Houdahgeo proceeds to re-georeference all your images (using the wrong adjustment).

Is this really true? I find it hard to believe it, but it appears to be so.

Hi!

This certainly is not how it is intended to behave.

The camera time zone is stored with the document.

I'll investigate this issue tomorrow and report back.

Hi!

I just checked:

- Canceling the camera setup sheet does trigger the geocoding process
- Existing values are not overwritten

It seems HoudahGeo sets off some computations which are likely to be unnecessary. However no harm is done. Manually adjusted values are preserved.

Hi!

I can however confirm that you found a major bug:

- Selecting Camera Setup on an existing document, may show an incorrect time zone
- Canceling out of the sheet does not prevent that incorrect time zone from being applied

I will see to fix this soon.

Pierre Bernard

Hello Pierre

Thanks for looking into this. I have been keeping Houdahgeo documents mostly because it seemed like the easiest way to record the delta between my camera's time and the actual (GPS) time. I do hope that when you fix this bug I will be able to find the original delta time in these documents.

Thank you

Alan
