Hi,

I'm currently a Capture One user and I would like to know if Capture One Catalogs will be supported in the future.

Thanks

Hi!

There are currently no imminent plans to add support for Capture One.

I have noted your feature request.

Hi!

I have checked into the possibility of supporting Capture One catalogs.

Full support would consist of:

1. Browsing Capture One catalogs from within HoudahGeo
2. Notifying Capture One of changes made to catalogs

For #1 Phase One recommends that should HoudahGeo talk to Capture One via Apple Script. This would require the Capture One to be running while HoudahGeo is browsing the catalogs. This would provide little benefit over browsing using Capture One and dragging the images over to HoudahGeo.

#2 is the bigger problem. Capture One does not allow location information to be updated via Apple Script. Hence there is no way for HoudahGeo to make Capture One aware of the updated metadata.

Best,

Pierre Bernard

I wonder if there is a solution for one workflow...

For those of us who load our imports to a Capture One Session; rate, process, select etc and once complete add them to a Capture One Catalogue, I wonder if Capture One would re-read the EXIF data from the RAW files rather than taking it from the session.

That would allow one to geotag using HoudahGeo at the session stage; and the the geo information into Capture One.

I'll try and have a go using my remaining trial writes.

Hi!

By default, HoudahGeo tries to preserve file modification dates while writing metadata. Even though you have written new data to your image files, their modification dates remain unchanged.

This could prevent third party applications like Capture One from picking up the changes.

There is a hidden setting to disable this feature:

This won't suit everybody, but I can confirm that if you do your editing and processing using Capture One sessions

1) The session picks up the geocoding when done by Houdah Geo, presumably because it reads the metadata fresh every time

2) when you transfer your work to your catalogue it will pick up the geocoding there on import.

For the snapshooter who puts everything straight into a catalogue this isn't any use, but if you work in projects it's fine.

It IS possible to update EXIF in Cap One 9. Make any changes you wish in the master/original image (RAW, jpeg, tiff). Then in Cap One select the same images and choose Load Metadata from the File menu or from the right click menu. I will reload the data & see the changes. This works great for me in my referenced collection.
