Hi:

I would like to be in the Finder and be able to use Cmd-F to bring up HoudahSpot.

How can I do this?

iMac/24 Intel, Leopard 10.5.5, v2.3(1856), current as of 11/8.

Thanks,

egr

Hi!

I know of no way of overriding the behavior of command-F.

You may however install a HoudahSpot button in the Finder toolbar. This option is available from the HoudahSpot preferences.

OK, thanks.

My second choice is Cmd-Opt-f, but that seems to be taken by a command I'll never use.

How can I use Cmd-Opt-f for what I want to use it for?

Thanks,

egr

Hi!

In HoudahSpot's preferences you may set a keyboard shortcut for BlitzSearch or for bringing HoudahSpot to front. These will be available in any application. Not just the Finder.

For some reason, I'm seeing to have any luck with any key that I set invoking the search window if HS hasn't already been launched. Before the latest update, I never had a problem. Since the update, it seems sorta sporadic.

Hi!

The keyboard shortcuts are handled by the HoudahSpotHelper (aka Global Menu) application.

Please make sure this helper application is running. It is best to have it start on login.

Please maker sure you have only one copy of HoudahSpot installed on your machine.

Pierre Bernard
