How do I customize the algorithm used to encode using GPS tracks?  I followed the steps in the help topic "Can I customize the geocoding algorithm" but they don't seem to have any effect.  I verified that the three PList keys exist and have the values I want:
mta@bayswater ~>defaults read com.houdah.HoudahGeo | grep -i limit
    gobbingLimit = 3;
    matchingLimit = 2;
    mergingLimit = 3;
but when I look at the values in a brand new document they are gobbing 5, merging 30, and matching 0.  Where did these come from and how do I change them?

Hi!

It seems there is a bug. Default values encoded elsewhere override those found in the PLIST file.

Hi!

Please try HoudahGeo 2.9.3b1. This should fix the issue.

That version doesn't load for me on Snow Leopard because:

Dyld Error Message:

  Referenced from: /Applications/GPS/HoudahGeo.app/Contents/MacOS/HoudahGeo

Unfortunately I was busy with other things when you posted this and the link has expired.  Can you make it available again (or point me to an existing copy).  I promise to get it right away this time.  Sorry for the trouble.

Unfortunately this version does not seem to solve the problem.  The geocoding parameters are still set to gobbing 5, merging 30, and matching 0 even though the defaults are set as described above.

Also this version seems to think some images are not geocoded even though they have coordinates.  If I do something (like write EXIF tags) and tell it to apply to geocoded images only it seems to think that some images are not geocoded when it sure looks like they are to me.

Hi!

Have you started a fresh project? Values stored within the project file take precedence over values stored in user defaults.

BTW, I just noticed that the syntax given in the documentation is incorrect and will cause HoudahGeo to crash. The correct syntax is:
defaults write com.houdah.HoudahGeo mergingLimit -int 3
defaults write com.houdah.HoudahGeo matchingLimit -int 2
defaults write com.houdah.HoudahGeo gobbingLimit -int 3
Best.

Yes, I started a new project -- several of them actually.

The real answer was your BTW in the last response.  Setting these as strings didn't cause a crash, but didn't work either.  When I changed them to ints the defaults worked right in 2.8.3b1 (but not in 2.9.2).
