Don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I'm searching for files with a certain tag, created after a certain date. For location, I'm specifying my home folder and the Documents folder on my iDisk.
There are dozens of files on the iDisk that match the criteria, but HoudahSpot doesn't find them—it only sees the ones in my home folder.
Then I noticed that the files on the iDisk have a blank creation date for some reason(!), so I thought "Aha!" and changed it to search modification date. Unfortunately I got the same result.
What's going on here?

Hi!

I believe that your iDisk files are not indexed by Spotlight. Have you turned on iDisk synching in Mobile Me Preferences? With that option a copy of your iDisk content is kept locally and should be indexed by Spotlight.

Yes, I have iDisk sync turned on. Though it's interesting how slow iDisk access remains even with this supposedly local cache available.

Hi!

Could you use the Terminal to go to your iDisk:
cd '/Volumes/MEMBER_NAME'
Then force Spotlight to index the location:
mdimport .
