I have several Garmin .gdb files on my PC notebook that I would like to bring over to my Mac and sync with pictures from those days. Unfortunately HoudahGeo does not have importing of a .gdb file as an option. Also the process of loading the files from the PC back into the Garmin and then importing into HoudahGeo removes the date/time information.
Am I missing something, or how hard would it be to have HoudahGeo support the .gdb file format?

Thanks
Larry

Hi!

Thanks for your interest ing HoudahGeo.

Have you tried GPSBabel+ to convert your GDB files to GPX?
Could you send me a sample GDB file?

Best,
Pierre Bernard

I tried GPSBabel and it seems to work.

My problem now is that I live on the US East coast. The pictures were taken on the west coast. The camera's time stamp was correct for the location, but the GPS info was originally uploaded into a PC that was still set to east coast time.

This shouldn't be a huge problem to overcome.

Hi!

By definition, GPX files store timestamps in UTC/GMT time zone.

Knowing that fact, HoudahGeo only needs to know the camera time zone. The computer's time zone shouldn't matter at all.
