Howdy,

I am able to geocode my photos using a gox file and reverse geocode to get the place names. However when I export metadata and view the files either in iPhoto or in Aperture the only metadata that shows up is the lat/long/altitude data from the gpx file. None of the place names from the reverse geocoding shows up. Do I need to change the workflow to make the place name show up?

Thanks,
Eric

Hi!

Aperture only has the ability to reload EXIF data. Place names are stored within IPTC. Aperture reads IPTC only upon original import.

You may have HoudahGeo notify iPhoto upon tagging iPhoto originals. iPhoto will then reload EXIF data from the files and perform its own reverse geocoding. The data from HoudahGeo is ignored by iPhoto, but remains available in the image file.

Best,
Pierre Bernard
