Can't get houdahgeo to correctly geotag my pictures on a Mac with Mountain Lion. Tags don't show up in lightroom. Tried to tag images through the XMP sidecars. Also tried to write the tags to Picasa images using EXIF but also no success, while this did work perfectly in Houdahgeo 2. If I reload the images in Houdahgeo the tags seem to be there.

Hi!

Interaction between HoudahGeo and Lightroom should be unchanged from previous versions.

You need to instruct Lightroom to reload metadata for the updated files. The exact labeling of the menu item currently escapes me.

When exporting to EXIF/XMP make sure to deselect the "Create copies" option.

Hi Edwin,

Sure you can. You can download HoudahGeo 2.9.5.

I would however prefer to see HoudahGeo 3.x working for you.

Thanks Pierre, I can tag them again. Workflow for me now is as follows:
1. copy pictures from camera
2. geotag them with houdahgeo 2.9.5
3. import pictures in Lightroom

Hi Edwin,

Glad to hear that you found a solution.

The same workflow should work with HoudahGeo 3.x.

Please let me know if you are interested / willing to give HoudahGeo 3.x another try.

Best,
Pierre Bernard

If anyone else is wondering: the menu option is Metadata > Read Metadata from File

Worked for me using 3.2.7, and Lightroom 3.6 on OSX 10.6.8
