Hi & good day,

Using HoudahSpot quite a lot, except for today it doesn't want to find all my files which I know are there!

... in the same folder as the ! which it finds.

Please refer to my sreendump @:

/ What could the reason be for this?

PS: even Spotlight doesn't find "pern_e.html" although it finds more, ..

Hi!

Sorry for the delayed reply.

Please try changing the "Limit…" from "Recently Opened" to something else. Maybe the files were "never" opened on that machine.

Hi & good day,

Well I changed the "Limit…" from "Recently Opened" to something else:

No change, HS still finds only 1 of three files!

>Maybe the files were "never" opened on that machine.

Now I opened those files and closed them again:

No change, HS still finds only 1 of three files!

FYI: Spotlight also only finds that same one file, not the other two!!!

How can this be?

Hi!

Could you try triggering re-indeing of the directory using the following in Terminal.app:
mdimport "/Volumes/main_HD/Users/omarkn/Sites/chello uppd_G5"
Same for me today. The files are present in the folder on our server, but are not found by HoudahSpot. This only applies to files added in the last couple of days. HoudahSpot finds files dated prior to then without problem. I see the terminal command above, but not sure if this is for my client computer or the server. In any regard, the path wouldn't apply to me. Thanks for your quick help with this.

Hi!

I would suggest running the mdimport command from Terminal.app on the server.

Type in mdimport followed by a space character. Then drag the drive or folder to index from the Finder to the Terminal window. Hit enter.
