If anyone has done what you read in the subject line, I would be curious of how things went for you.

My hope is to use HodahSpot to search photos stored in Amazon Cloud Drive (ACD) to determine if they have geotag information or not.

Hi!

I don't know if Spotlight automatically indexes drives mounted by ExpandDrive.
You may have to use the mdutil and mdimport commands in Terminal.app to enable indexing.

You can check on the indexing status of a drive using the following:

1. Open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app
2. Type "mdutil -s " without the quotes but with the trailing space
3. Drag the volume from Finder to the Terminal. This should add the path of the volume. For example: "/Volumes/myExpanDriveACD"
4. Hit Enter

This should reply with "Indexing enabled".

To enable indexing for a drive, use "mdutil -i on":

1. Open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app
2. Type "mdutil -i on " without the quotes but with the trailing space
3. Drag the volume from Finder to the Terminal. This should add the path of the volume. For example: "/Volumes/myExpanDriveACD"
4. Hit Enter

You may need to use "mdimport" to trigger the actual indexing. I.e. if it does not start right away

1. Open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app
2. Type "mdimport " without the quotes but with the trailing space
3. Drag the volume from Finder to the Terminal. This should add the path of the volume. For example: "/Volumes/myExpanDriveACD"
4. Hit Enter
