I can't seem to be able to find invisible files, even when using the invisibility "on" criteria. I tested it in my home directory, looking for folders like .config or .cups (I know they're there cuz I have Finder set to expose invisible files, and I can find them in EasyFind or Terminal). I can't find them with the Finder's Find either.

I've rebuilt the Spotlight index at least once, and I'm running Lion.

Hi!

Unfortunately, Mac OS has several ways of flagging a file as invisible. Some files, like those with names starting with a period, are invisible to Spotlight. I.e. they will not be indexed.

Are files within an invisible folder with a name like .folder indexed?

Hi!

It seems they are not indexed.

I have found an article regarding invisible files on the Mac.
