Was V3.6.4 the last version of HoudahSpot to support Leopard (and thus PowerPC-based Macs)?

I had been running that version until some time last month, then an automatic update installed a version that will only run on Snow Leopard or later.

Suggestion: Don't automatically install (or even offer to install?) an update that isn't capable of running on the user's hardware and OS.

Hi!

Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard compatibility is in a tricky state.

We no longer advertise it because it gets harder and harder to maintain.
Also testing gets harder and harder. All my PowerPC machines have long since died.

But: HoudahSpot 3.7.2 should still work on Leopard.
I have tested it in a 10.5 Intel virtual machine.
And it has been compiled for PowerPC.

Please try downloading a fresh copy from the web site.

If that does not work, please check /Applications/Utilities/Console.app for error messages and crash reports.
Please send me those.

Best,
Pierre Bernard

Version 3.7 - 3.7.2 has worked great for me. Pierre out of curiosity what PowerPC models have died on you? My nine year old PowerMac has still been working pretty good.

Hi!

Glad to hear 3.7.2 is still working on PowerPC.

The last two machines were both PowerBook G4 Titanium.

One died of hard-disk failure. The other one had a broken hinge.

Best,
Pierre Bernard

Oh okay so those are machines that are about 12-13 years old that would explain why they are having problems.
