Got my copy of the Mountain Lion Developer preview a couple weeks ago... Loving it so far, but sad that Type2Phone doesn't work.

Just making sure that y'all are aware that it is not functioning properly, I'll do some debugging and see if I can find the root of the issue.

Hi!

We are aware of the fact that Type2Phone does not work on Mountain Lion. We still need to figure out what's going wrong.

By when can one expect support for Mountain Lion. I was very excited about the App and purchased it today. I did not realise that it does not work with Mountain Lion. I am a little concerned for all other forums seem to indicate that the iPhone 4S will not connect to a MacBook Pro via Bluetooth. I am currently unable to pair the devices, or if paired they do not connect.

The symptoms I see are the same as on this thread:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

It's been working for me since DP4, and as the  Support Forums are currently down, I am unable to see the link you posted.

Are you trying to connect them through the App? That won't work. You will need to connect them through Apple's Bluetooth menu (in the top-right menu bar).

If that is where the issue is, then it is in Apple's court as far as bugs goes.

Hi!

Type2Phone should work fine on the release version of Mountain Lion.

Have you tried the troubleshooting tips in the Type2Phone FAQ?

The most important thing to keep in mind, is that pairing needs to originate from the iPhone. I.e. initiate pairing on the iPhone from Settings > General > Bluetooth.

Thanks Coder12 and Pierre. I tried the pairing again as suggested and on opening the app, it does pass text onto the phone, however for some strange reason I am still getting the message "Finishing the device pairing" in a dialog box from the Mac which doesn't seem to go away. The phone happily says "Connected" Not sure what is happening but it seems to work for now.

Once again thanks for the prompt response and support.

I quit the app and started it again and the pairing dialog went away, everything works as advertised. Once again, Thank you.
