I got the Wintec WBT-202 today. I tried to log my first track, about 30 min walk, however I cannot load it in HoudahGeo, neither when connecting via Bluetooth nor via USB.

I've read the Help and the FAQ, so I found out to download a USB driver from Silicon Labs. I did that, installed it, and yet, no matter if I chose the WBT-100/200 or the 201 from the menu, no matter whether connection through BT or USB, the OK button remains grayed out. Since I do not find anything here in this forum either, I need your help.

The connection via USB seems to be okay, I do get the SD card mounted; I just cannot load the data in HG.

Thanks,
Wladimir

Hi!

Unfortunately the Wintec WBT-202 is not yet supported. You will need to use third party software to extract GPX track log files from the device. These files can then be used with HoudahGeo.

Hi!

I just read that the WBT-202 uses a SD-card. The card may mount much like a USB pen drive when the WBT-202 is connected to your Mac. You may have to put the SD-card in a card reader for it to be mounted.

Once the card is mounted, you may find track log files on the device.

Thanks, Pierre! I can mount the card, even right from the 202 connected via USB, however I did not find a program yet that can read the files. Their extension is TES; a sample file name is 17_41_31.TES.

I tried the applications GPSBabel+ and GPSPhotoLinker; both failed.

Any idea, when HoudahGeo will support the WBT-202?

Regards,
Wladimir

Hi Wladimir!

Could you please send me a sample file? With a little luck, I can find a way to make it readable.

HoudahGeo relies on GPSBabel to connect to GPS devices. HoudahGeo will be able to support the WBT-202 once GPSBabel does.
