What does it mean when HoudahGeo displays image file names in RED? It does not let me Geocode thos files.

HI!

Red means that the image is not yet geocoded.

How are you trying to geocode the images? Using a GPS or using Google Earth?

Using a GPS log file imported from a GPS.

All of the other files in the group tagged just fine. ONly 2 images won't let me tag them.

Hi!

This means that it could not match up the photos with the track log.

Were these photo taken before the GPS had acquired satellites?
Or after you turned it off?
Or at a moment where the GPS had no reception - e.g. indoors?

You can inspect the track log produced by your GPS by using HoudahGPS to convert it to KML. It may then be viewed in Google Earth.

These are the last 2 photos of the batch so I know the GPS had acquired. I am sure the GPS was on as I physically turned it off a while later after I left the site. The images are outdoors. I can't imagine that I was being blocked by trees as these two specifically were in a small clearing.

I guess I will have to experiment more.

Hi!

When you load the track into HoudahGeo, you will shortly see - at the very bottom of the window - the time frame covered by the track. You will know if you photo falss within that time frame.

Seems as if the capture time was somehow changed to be -8 hours from when they were actually captured. Fixed that and now its al good. Thanks!
