Once I have matched my photos with the corresponding GPS coordinates, it would be nice to double check my GPS coordinates by going to a "Street View" representation of the location.

My question:

Is this facility available in HoudahGeo?

If not, is there a simple way to go from the GPS coordinates in HoudahGeo to say, Bing's Streetside (?) view?

Hi!

There is no real easy way.

When in Geocode mode, the map has a menu which can take you to the Google or Bing maps web sites.

Attached is the menu I believe you refer to. Would you confirm?

Also, I noticed the Google reveal selection does not send the lat/long data when opening the browser with Google Maps loaded. Is this expected behavior?

Once you land in the Bing maps, I assume you click Streetside? If so, I then lose my lat/long coordinates. Is there a better way?

Hi!

That is the very menu.
Only yours is colored black. I assume your are using some kind of accessibility software.

Coordinates are passed on to both Google Maps and Bing.
You should see them in the URL.

I did not know Bing had their own version of StreetView.
I just gave it a try. There does not seem to be a way to have it go directly to the current location.

You may also want to try "Google Earth Geocoding" in HoudahGeo with the "Automatically Jump to Selection" option.
This way Google Earth tracks your current image selection in HoudahGeo.
It does however not seem to want to stay in StreetView mode.

Hi!

I think I found a bug where links to Google Maps and Bing Maps might be broken on systems that use the comma as decimal separator.

This will be fixed in HoudahGeo 3.5.

HoudahGeo will also add options to link to Google StreetView and Bing StreetSide.

On the geocode screen, the black menu I see is because of "accessibility software"? What are some examples, please?

Can other HoudahGeo users comment if there menu is black, as well?

Hi!

I was thinking about: System Preferences > Accessibility > Display

Please see the attached screenshot for what this should look like.

Hi!

There is now a new beta of HoudahGeo:

This adds options to reveal in StreetView.
