Since tags are one of the most common ways I search for files I was wondering if that tagging is coming to Tembo as well?

Hi!

Tembo also searches tags.

There are however no plans to add tagging features to Tembo.

How do you search tags in Tembo? I didn't see where you go to do that.

Hi!

By default Tembo searches all text attributes. You may limit the search to the tags attribute by entering "tags:SEARCH_STRING".

Do you think it would make sense to have another field that is dedicated for searching for tags? The problem I can see now is that if you are using other fields for typing in tags you won't be able to use the field for what it is originally intended for. If your search uses several search fields (like most searches would) then this can be a problem. Know what I mean?

Hi!

I am not sure what you mean.

You may type "foo tags:bar" to search for any file named or containing "foo" and which is tagged "bar".

Ok, I see how that works. I wonder if many people know about that feature since it is hidden? It just seems like it would be more logical to have a tag field. Also since you would have other words typed into the field it can get crowded and you may not be able to view both the tagged words and the non tagged words at the same time.

@Pierre if you look at how spotlight in Mavericks searches they have made it much easier. Simply type in the name of a tag and it comes up as a search suggestion which can then be applied as a token. See this link:

Tembo has all that blank space to the left of the search box so why not make it much wider so that enter in lots of search tokens?
