I have some NMEA text files that i want to convert to GPX.

According to the Help file, Acquire should become active when File is selected, but it does not.

Using OS X 10.6.8

Sample NMEA text file attached..can I do anything with these files ?

Output is from a Locosys LS20023  one piece GPS chip  which only gives a NMEA output as attached.

Any help in getting this file type in to a GPX or other format appreciated

Hi!

The Help is wrong.

The Acquire button is used to get data from GPS devices. It is active if Device is selected and a device appears to be available at the specified port.

You will want to use the Convert button. It becomes active when File is selected.
Click the Convert button to be asked to select the source file.

OK.   thankyou..that is something to know..I was not doing anything wrong there.

In that case, what I was trying initially before reading the Help was correct.

I did try and use the convert button...but when the Select Source window appears, it will not allow selection of the nmea text files.

The selector Track Log Files window appears but all the contents are greyed out, so i can not select the text nmea filesScreen shot 2014-01-15 at 21.46.06.png Screen shot 2014-01-15 at 21.46.38.png

Hi!

The panel checks file types by extension.
Use the Finder to change the extensions from .txt to .nmea
