I'd like Houdaspot to have an option in the "What..." section of the search to search for a text string in BOTH the name OR text contents, much as Spotlight does.

Right now, to get this functionality, I have to Set...

If ANY of the following are true...

Name Contains ________
Text content contains words ________

I have to enter the text into both fields

I wonder if there's a way to enter a text string into just ONE field, and have Houdaspot search for files with that word or words (or specific phrase enclosed with "") in either the file name or text content?

Hi!

Thanks for the feedback.

Such a feature is currently planned for a future version of HoudahSpot.

Here's my idea of the interface...only one text-entry field. Notice also the ability to sort by both created and modified dates. Is there a way to have all of the usual Finder attributes (such as label color, etc) used as sort criteria, just by clicking on the header of each column?

I'm going to try to attach a screen shot. Click image for larger version - Name: Picture_1.jpg, Views: 18, Size: 43.03 KB

Hi!

Thanks for the feedback.

Work on HoudahSpot 2.1 has already progressed pretty close to a release. I am sure you will love it.

As for sorting: you may add any column from a selection of hundreds to the result list. Once you have added the column, click its header to sort by that value.

Best,
Pierre Bernard
