I have a few questions, but first let me note that I found the bookmark capability. I don't know if this is new or it's been there for a while and I just didn't notice it, but in any case it's a great feature! Just as a thought, it would be nice if one could include the city, province/state and country with the bookmark so that those corresponding IPTC tag fields could also be set.

My questions:
1. RAW files get renamed. Is there a way to preserve their original file names. I'm updating the RAW files prior to import into Aperture so I can't use sidecar files.
2. City and Country tags are set in JPG files, but they don't seem to be set in the RAW files. Is there a way to include those tags in RAW files?
3. Can you include support for the province/state IPTC tag?

Hi!

Thanks for the feedback.

The current Bookmarks feature is intended for navigating the map interface only. A more general Bookmark feature would indeed be welcome. BTW, the map interface has sort of been superseded by the Google Earth geocoding feature.

1. Files should not get renamed unless you have 2 images of the same name. Can you provide an example?

2. The same tags are set in all image formats, except where the format does not support the tag. Which RAW format are you using?

3. Reverse geocoding needs some work. The catch being that the current HoudahGeo file format does not have room for more fields. Adding fields will cause a need for migration and thus needs to be planned carefully.

1: I have a jpg file of the same name (e.g., L1000100.jpg and L1000100.RAW). So it looks like the program doesn't take the filename extension into consideration. I can output to separate directories.

2: I have a Leica D-Lux3, which uses the Panasonic format

3: Understand; was just asking

Hi!

1. The thing is that if you were using XMP sidecar files, it wouldn't be clear to which file it applies: the JPG or the RAW.

2. City and Country information are written to XMP and IPTC tags. It seems the Panasonic RAW doesn't support either:

You might want to convert your images to DNG or consider using XMP sidecar files.
