HoudahGeo shows my image timestamps in local time, and exports them to Google Earth in UTC. Neither of these is useful to me when the pictures were shot in Japan and I live in California. Any chance these could be customizable in future releases?

The idea behind showing local time is that I wanted to standardize on something familiar. If worse comes to worse you can always temporarily set your computer to the time zone you travelled to. Then you would see local time at destination.

For Google Earth export, I agree that HoudahGeo should do better than UTC. I just don't know what to pick. Camera time zone would be the next best choice. Only some people - me included - leave their camera always set to home time zone.

Maybe the current computer time zone can be a reasonable choice. At least, this way, you get a chance to influence the output.
