Houdahspot offers a range of MS Outlook fields for searches: CC Recipients (Outlook), for example. But it's not a complete set.

I would like to be able to search using other Outlook fields: Task completed, for example.

Is there any way to do that?

 Hi!

Try this in the main search field for HoudahSpot:

com_microsoft_outlook_completed:1

HoudahSpot searches the Spotlight index. This relies on importer plug-ins to read metadata and content from third-party files. E.g. Microsoft Outlook provided a Spotlight importer plug-in to process .olk15Message files.

This importer extracts data from the file and assigns it to properties / attributes defined by Apple. E.g. title, recipients, etc.
An importer (i.e. its developer) can also introduce new attributes. When it does so it provides an internal name (e.g. com_microsoft_outlook_completed) and optionally a readable name. Without that second name the attribute is private.

HoudahSpot reads some of these private attributes from Outlook messages. The ones we have seen across different versions of Outlook. The ones we expect to stick around in newer versions. The ones we were able to "understand" to a point where we can provide a readable name.

My guess is that "com_microsoft_outlook_completed" is the private name for what you saw elsewhere labeled as "task completed".

Perfect!

Googling com_microsoft_outlook_completed provides a list of other fields one can search on (and a number of useful automation techniques).

Very many thanks @houdah. I’d not expected such a very helpful reply, and this is very encouraging.

Oops - so to create a template for "Outstanding outlook tasks", I have
    Kind Is olk15_task,
But where do I put the com_microsoft_outlook_completed:0 please, @houdah ?
It works in the main search bar, but using the 'Any Text' in the 'refine' section doesn't work doesn't work.

You can add com_microsoft_outlook_completed:0 or com_microsoft_outlook_completed:1 in the main search field at the top of the HoudahSpot window.

You cannot add it to the Refine pane. This shows mostly only attributes for which it has a readable name. This is usually provided by the vendor (Microsoft). For some Outlook attributes, HoudahSpot adds its own names.

HoudahSpot 5.0.11 has added "Task Completed (Outlook)" as criterion available for use in the Refine pane.
