Hi,

I tried a trial version of HG 2.1 and it worked well with my new Wintec WBT-201 (importing track logs and GPS data via Bluetooth).  So yesterday, I purchased HG, and in the confirming email, it says to make sure you have the latest version.  Turns out 2.2.2 was available, so I downloaded it.  Big mistake!

Version 2.2.2 would import my photos (I shoot JPGs and RAW (.CR2) files).  But when it came time to import the GPS data files from the WBT-201 via Bluetooth, it would not download.  I select "Load GPS Data From Device", go with the defaults for the WBT-201 ("G-Rays2-SPPslave-1"), and my iMac starts talking to the WBT-201 (blue light flashes).  Then the blue light stops flashing, and the program says "Loading 1 track log file(s)..." but it just sits there for about 5 minutes until the program finally crashes.  The Track Library does not have the new logs.

The exact same problem is happening with Version 2.2.3 that I installed this afternoon.  I note that Version 2.1 worked fine and did not have this problem.  As a temporary work-around, I tried installing HoudahGPS and that was able to extract the GPS data from my device.  I added it to my test photos using the file import function, but, as mentioned in another thread, the time stamps are corrupted in the tagged photos.

Hi!

Sorry to hear you are having problems with HoudahGeo 2.2. Rest assured that we are working as fast as possible to resolve the issues that slipped through the beta testing process of HoudahGeo 2.2.

Do I understand correctly that loading the file you got from HoudahGPS worked fine?

Could you please give it another try and check /Applications/Utilities/Console.app for error messages and warnings?

Best,
Pierre Bernard

I tried to load a GPS file today to add to some photos and also experienced some serious crashes(using the latest HoudahGeo version). I had to switch back to version 2.1 to get anything to work.

Hi Pierre,

Thanks for the quick response.  Yes, that is correct, and I confirmed it again:  HoudahGPS will extract a .gpx file from my device via Bluetooth without any problems.  However, when I perform the same function using HoudahGeo (Version 2.2.2 or 2.2.3), the program crashes -- hard.  I reviewed the Console.app and you were right, it is full of HoudaGeo error messages.  I tried sending the console log to you, but it crashed too!     Here is some of the console report.  I'm not a programmer, but I hope this helps you.

I will make a full copy and email it to info@houdah.com for your review.

With the 2.2.2 trial version I experienced the same crash when it was reading the gpx log from the file system.

I do not see anything in the console.app log.

It worked one time, failed 3 times - sent the failure to houdah and then it has worked after that.

I can provide the GPX file if that would help?

Hi!

Please update your copy of HoudahGeo to version 2.2.4. This fixes an issue with GPX loading.

Pierre,

Thanks for the quick response.  Yes, 2.2.4 now loads the track files via Bluetooth.    However, there is another issue.  The time stamps are wrong on the images written with EXIF data containing the location coordinates.  The dates are correct, but the times are way off.  I'm using Aperture 2.1.2.

2.2.4 resolved the gpx file loading problem for me as well.
