Hi,

After revealing the reverse geocode secrets I got stuck to another problem:
Geonames and Google differ in informations for city in my region (for what reason, I don't know).
So I did a first attempt in reverse geocoding with Geonames, all worked fine. Now I did a second attempt with Google and rewrote the infos. In this case HoudahGeo does overwrite the xmpfile, but not the exifs in the rawfile. There is still the cityinformation of GeoNames stored.

Why that?

Hi!

When present, XMP files take precedence over metadata embedded in the image file. HoudahGeo respects this principle when writing metadata and leaves the image file untouched when a XMP file is present.

Best,

Hi,
thanks Bernard, I now recognize what happened: my first attempt was without creating a xmp-sidecar, so the infos had to be written into the exifs. The second attempt did create a sidecar, so no further information was written to the exifs. That's ok.
